View/Edit the End User Details

  1. On the End Users page, click the user (whose details you wish to view or edit). This opens the Details tab for the selected user.

If you are a customer in the EU, the GDPR feature should be enabled so that Personal Identifiable Information (PII) is not shown. When GDPRGeneral Data Protection Regulation is enabled, the following message box displays regarding PII, click CONTINUE if you are in compliance with the message details to view or edit the end user's details.

Notice there are six tabs (example shown below) of information for review and edit for the end user. Reviewing/editing capabilities on all tabs are covered in the steps below.

  1. If you wish to make changes to the user's details, click the EDIT button.
  2. Edit the information on the Details tab as needed:
  1. For First Name, enter the first name of the user.
  2. For Last Name, enter the last name of the user.
  3. For Email, enter the user's email address.
  4. For Country Code, select the country code for the user's phone number.
  5. For Phone, enter the user's phone number that was used when creating the user account.
  6. For UUID (Universally Unique Identifier), review this alphanumeric ID that the system assigns the user; you cannot change this field.
  7. For Company, the company name associated with the user.
  8. For Street, City, State, Zip, and Country, enter this information for the user's address or location as needed.
  9. For Confirmed, select or deselect the check box depending on the confirmation status of the user's account.
  10. For Confirmation sent at, review the date and time that the confirmation email was sent to the user's account. This is not an editable field.
  11. For Approved, select or deselect the check box depending on the approval status of the user's account.
  12. For Origin OEM, review the original OEM entered. This field is not editable.
  13. For Assigned Dealer, click the trash can icon (shown below) if you wish to delete or change the Dealer assigned to this end user. Dealers are OEM customers who sell the OEM's devices to end users. If this end user is a Dealer User who was added to the dashboard from the Dealers page, the name of the Dealer who added this Dealer User shows in this field. Otherwise, this field is blank. Ajit, in our last recorded meeting, you said that if the Dealer is not specified in this field there will be a drop-down list where you can choose a Dealer to associate with this Dealer. You also said that the Associate with field (step r below) is for end users who you are promoting to Dealer Users. So, is the drop-down list that will be added to this field only for End User who you are assigning to a Dealer? Also, I am assuming that when a Dealer User is created, an end user account is also added to the End User area of the dashboard --please confirm. Lastly, I can't find a mock-up with these new Dealer fields. Is there one?

  1. For Update Assigned Dealer, in the drop-down list, select the Dealer who you wish to assign to this end user if you deleted a previously assigned Dealer in Step m.
  2. For Automatically Assign all devices of this end user to the Assigned Dealer, select the checkbox if you wish to do this; otherwise, unselect it or leave it unselected. Ajit, if they want to select specific devices only, do they leave this unselected and select these specific devices via the Assigned Devices tab in the Dealers area?
  3. For Roles, notice that it specifies the EndUser role, which is the role assigned when users sign up for an Ayla account. Click the Trash Can icon to delete this role, then proceed to step q to assign a new role.
  4. For Add New Role, select the role you wish to assign to this end user. For example, if this end user is a Dealer User, you may want to assign OEM::Staff so that editing and other permissions are enabled. The Dealer User may need this in the Dealers management area of the dashboard. Click here for a description of the Dashboard Roles/Privileges. Dealer Users are employees of the Dealer.
  5. For Associate with, if this end user is a Dealer User, select the Dealer you wish to assign to this end user if one is not already assigned. (See Steps m and n above.) Dealers are OEM customers who sell the OEM's devices to end users. Dealer Users are employees of the Dealer.

Then, select the role you wish to assign to this Dealer User if you did not do this in Step q above. Ajit, please confirm that this is correct. Also, if this is correct, why would they need to assign the role here? Or is this where you assign a role to the Dealer because per the mock-ups there is no field for Roles when you create or edit a Dealer? Only the Create Dealer Users dialog box has a field to assign roles.

  1. For Reset password, click the link and follow the prompts to reset the user's password.
  2. For Resend confirmation instructions, click the link and follow the prompts to resend the instructions to confirm the user's account.
  3. For Register Device, enter the DSNDevice Serial Number for the device, and then click the REGISTER button. If the device registers successfully, the following message flashes at the top of the page:

  1. For Add New Role, click the new role you wish to assign to this user. A user can have multiple roles. See Default User Roles in the Ayla Customer Dashboard for a description of the privileges for each role.
  1. Click UPDATE to save the changes to this user's details, or CANCEL to close the dialog box without saving. Note that if you entered Dealer information (steps m-r above), this end user will appear in the Dealer Users tab (if this is an employee of the dealer) or the End Users tab (if this is an end user assigned to the Dealer). Click here for information on these tabs.
  2. Click the Metadata tab if you wish to review its content. (provides user details, such as key=Gender, value=male; key=Title, value=position; key=Age, value=20-30; key=Location, value=NY, key=2ndEmail, value=person@test.com; etc.) The content includes:
